Kirby Clark Ellis, MTI, BCTMB (they/them/theirs)
President, Society Of Massage Archive
Host, Hands Of History Podcast: A Production of the Society Of Massage Archives
is an Arkansas based franchise employed massage therapist. Since 2014, Kirby has had the pleasure of supporting the peace and healing of clients from all walks of life. Over the last decade, Kirby’s career has also evolved to include being an Approved Provider for Continuing Education(through NCBTMB), an amateur massage historian, and an advocate & volunteer with various massage organizations including Arkansas’ regulatory authority.

The Society Of Massage Archives and massage history is an important passion project for Kirby because history not only shows us where we have been (in order to plot our path forward), but also connects practitioners across our shared professional identity. Kirby believes that as massage therapists and bodyworkers, we have a shared history and a shared destiny. You can learn more about Kirby at kcemassage.com.

Julie Onofrio, Secretary, Society Of Massage Archives
Newsletter Editor, Website Manager, Society Of Massage Archives
has been a self-employed massage therapist in Seattle, Washington since 1987. Julie has had 38 years of watching the profession grow and change and has created many websites on the profession, including her latest project; www.massagetherapynexus.com

(Julie’s previous ventures have been www.massagepracticebuilder.com, www.massageschoolnotes.com and www.massagechangeslives.com and her very first website, www.thebodyworker.com where Robert Calvert, author of a History of Massage, found the first timeline that Julie did in around 2002 and told her it was inaccurate- despite Julie finding every citation in a massage therapy textbook. Julie has resolved to get it right!)
